Biography

Sadia is an activist engaged in empowering women to have a voice in county government processes within Sagante/Jaldesa ward, Marsabit County and also creating awareness on issues of climate change.

She is a community leader and has helped women form several groups in a quest towards empowerment and advocacy. Since 2011, she has been spreading awareness on women issues and the need to be involved in the county planning and budgeting process, which has enabled women to acquire resources from the government.

She has led women groups into alternative sources of income such as livestock trade which hitherto has been a man’s domain and which speaks to strengthening adaptation and resilience for women. Sadia is married with three children aged between 8 and 17 years.
