Biography

Passy Amayo Ogolla is currently serving as a Program Manager leading the implementation of the Sustainable Energy Futures for Eastern Africa Programme at the Society for International Development (SID). The publication, Energy for Whom? Scenarios for Eastern Africa stands as one of the landmarks of the programme; and the Africa Network Weaver for the Next Generation Foresight Practice at the School of International Futures (SOIF). 

She is a nature lover and eco-activist working with various local and international youth networks in reimagining and shaping a desirable future for next generations.

She is the Regional Focal Point for East and Southern Africa at the SDG 7 Youth Constituency of the United Nations Major Group for Children and Youth (UNMGCY), the Policy Advocacy Lead at the Kenya Environmental Action Network (KEAN), and a member of YOUNGO, at its representative at the UNFCCC TEC Taskforce on Collaboration and Stakeholder engagement.

Passy uses her writing to share her perspective on themes related to environmental sustainability including sustainable energyclimate actionimpact of COVID19 on youth while also actively participating in local community actions in order to spur and influence behavioural and policy change for a sustainable future for all.

She is recognized by the Nation Media Group as one of the 2021 top 30 under 30 women inspiring Kenyans and shaping the future of the country.
