Cindy Makandi is a Kenyan producer with a M.A in International Film Business from University of Exeter and London Film School and a strong background in film production, project management and acquisition of African films for the global market.

Over the course of a seven year career, Cindy has worked on local and international film productions of high repute such as SENSE8 for Netflix, Inc., Fishing Without Nets for Vice Media and Veve and KATIKATI for One Fine Day Films and Ginger Ink Films. As the Acquisitions Manager for Rushlake Media GmbH (2017-2020), Cindy was committed to bringing high quality African content to the world’s attention, thus securing Africa’s place in the global entertainment scene.

She was also the Project manager of Good Pitch Kenya 2020, African and East African coordinator for the Film Pro Series EA (East Africa) and Follow the Nile respectively. These programs seek to build creative and technical capacity amongst filmmakers in Africa.
