Abubakar Said has been working in the civil society sector for the past 20 years. His expertise is in the area of governance, democracy, elections, countering violent extremism, conflict management, adult learning methodologies, curriculum development, civic education, social justice, climate change and human rights work.
He is currently working as the Executive Director for Education For Africa, an organization championing the empowerment of young people to access civic and related education so that they can engage effectively in leadership and governance.
He has worked with Uraia Trust as the Civic Education Manager for the past 10 years. He has previously worked with World Assembly of Muslim Youth, East Africa (WAMY), World Conference on Religion and Peace (WCRP), Inter Religious Council of Kenya (IRCK), and CEDMAC (consortium for the Empowerment and Development of Marginalized communities) in different capacities.
