Biography

Noella Luka is an award-winning Documentary Filmmaker based in Nairobi Kenya. Her work has been recognised in Africa, Europe, and North America. Noella has experience in TV and radio as a Producer and Director for various Kenyan shows such as Tazama, Project Green, and Giving Nature a Voice.
 
In 2018, she was appointed Brand Ambassador for Africa Climate Change Environmental Reporting (ACCER) Awards for her short documentary “Blending in”. She directed the multiple award-winning documentary Vanishing Vultures screened at the Zanzibar International Film Festival, currently on V.O.D at Demand Africa, and in 2019 featured at MIPCOM TV market, Cannes.
 
In 2021 she participated in Climate Story Lab Africa presented by Docubox, supported by Doc Society and other partners. Noella continues to tell human interest stories in collaboration with African storytellers.
 
She has worked with The Laikipian as a scriptwriter on a 2-part comic book series on Human-Wildlife Conflict and the role of Climate Change in heightening the conflict. The comic book series features African characters and community experiences within Laikipia in Kenya. Noella is currently directing a film titled What’s Eating My Mind, a co-production with LBX Africa and STEPS.
